Avex Group is committed to protecting personal information, as set out in this policy document, and understands the importance of privacy.

  1. Establishment and ongoing improvement of compliance programs for personal information protection
    Avex Group endeavors to inform directors and employees of the importance of personal information protection. In order to protect personal information the company has set up compliance programs for personal information protection, which include this policy document, personal information protection regulations, and other related standards and regulations. Avex Group is continuously improving these programs.

  2. Compliance with personal information protection regulations
    Avex Group has established a management framework for the appropriate protection of personal information with consideration given to the operations and scale of each department and in accordance with personal information protection regulations, and other related standards and regulations. This management framework collects, uses and provides personal information in an appropriate manner as well as disclosing and changing personal information at the request of the information provider.

  3. Ensuring accuracy and safety of personal information
    In order to ensure the accuracy and safety of personal information, Avex Group endeavors to maintain accurate and up to date personal information, as well as putting in place rational safety protocols from the perspective of information communications technology and the management framework. Avex Group makes every effort to prevent the unauthorized access, loss, destruction, modification and leakage of personal data.

  4. Compliance with laws and other standards and regulations relating to personal information protection
    Avex Group complies with laws and other related standards, regulations and guidelines as set out by government departments and other specified organizations relating to personal information protection.

Privacy Policy
 
Avex Group is committed to protecting personal information of customers and complies with applicable laws and other regulations. Avex Group handles customer personal information in the following manner.
  1. Personal information management
    In order to prevent leaking, loss, destruction, and so on of customer data, Avex Group has in place appropriate safety management measures in accordance with laws, guidelines and Avex Group internal regulations, and makes every effort to protect personal information. Avex Group also endeavors to educate its employees on how to appropriately treat personal information in order to facilitate full protection.

  2. Acquiring personal information and usage objectives
    (1) In the case of Avex Group acquiring personal information, the company is committed to utilizing only appropriate measures to do so. Avex Group makes clear its intention to acquire personal information and when customers directly provide personal information through the Internet, the company will declare how this information will be used. In cases when it is adequately clear how the information will be used at the time the information is provided, the company reserves the right to abbreviate the declaration of how the information will be used.
    (2) Avex Group reserves the right to use personal information within the scope of the following purposes.
    (a) In order to confirm applications for the delivery of services rendered and products     purchased
       (i) in order to confirm and deliver purchased products
    (ii) in order to confirm applications to events and deliver tickets
    (iii) in order to send email and confirm applications to email delivery services
      (iv) in order to provide services and confirm registration to each type of member service
    (v) in order to send gratuities to participants in surveys
    (vi) in order to send prizes to competition participants
    (b) In order to develop new services as well as provide and improve existing services
        and products used by customers
       (i) in order to improve website, product and service content for customer satisfaction
    (ii) in order to customize website, product and service content to meet individual customer needs
    (iii) in order to gauge customer satisfaction for information and products ordered by customers
      (iv) in order to gauge customer usage status for the improvement of existing services and the development of new services
    (c) In order to deliver information on products and services provided
       (i) in order to deliver information on events and Avex Group artists
    (ii) in order to deliver information on membership services and other services
    (iii) in order to announce requests for survey participants and the results of such surveys
    (d) In order to announce requests for audition participants and student enrollment and      confirm responses to such announcements
       (i) in order to announce and confirm responses to auditions
    (ii) in order to announce and confirm requests for student enrollment and situations vacant
    (3) For retained information acquired before the introduction of the personal information protection law (before March 31, 2005) Avex Group reserves the right to continue using such information for the above stated purposes.
    (4) In the case of Avex Group entering into a merger, or being spun-off, or continuing operations after such operations being transferred, the company will continue to use the personal information within the scope of publicized or notified purposes, or within the scope of the information provider agreement.
    (5) In accordance with laws, in such cases as when lives are in danger and it is necessary to protect people or property, Avex Group may cooperate with government agencies to acquire and use personal information beyond the scope of the aforementioned purposes and without the prior agreement of the information provider.

  3. Providing information to third parties
    Avex Group will not provide information to third parties except in the following cases
    (1) when the information provider has given express permission
    (2) when Avex Group provides the information to a subcontractor under adequate supervision for fulfilling the aforementioned purposes
    (3) when personal information has been acquired for the purpose of providing the information to a third party and the provided data, information disclosure method, contact for requesting discontinuation are easily accessible.
    (4) when disclosure of personal information is necessary to protect lives or property and an agreement from the customer cannot be easily obtained.
    (5) when Avex Group is ordered to do so in accordance with laws by a government agency or local government body
    (6) when personal information is provided in Avex Group merger, spin-off or transfer of operations

  5. Bulletin board entries and personal information
    Avex Group offers a service wherein customers can post messages on the bulletin boards of artists’ websites. Customers should be aware that personal information posted on these bulletin boards can be seen by other users. There are also links to non-Avex websites within the Avex website. Customers should be aware that Avex accepts no responsibility for personal information submitted to such websites.

  6. Procedure and enquiries for personal information disclosure
    (1) Customer or a designated proxy wishing to modify, append and delete (cancel membership) should contact Avex at the phone number below. (Although Avex Group Holdings Ltd. oversees the management of personal information shared within Avex Group, the Customer Center below will handle enquiries.) In cases when a customer has provided membership and other details over the Internet, the information may be changed, added to and deleted (canceled) by the customer.

    (2) When making an enquiry, customers should be aware that they will be asked for confirmation of their identity or the identity of their designated proxy. Ask the specified department for the necessary procedure for disclosing and modifying personal information
    (3) When the following apply, customer requests may be denied.
       (i) when the customer identity or the identity of a designated proxy cannot be confirmed
    (ii) requests for disclosure, modification, addition, deletion and cancellation of personal information not held by Avex Group
    (iii) when the disclosure of personal data held by Avex Group could be harmful to a third party’s life, property or other vested interests.
      (iv) when the disclosure of personal data held by Avex Group has the potential to be markedly detrimental to the operations of Avex Group
    (v) when the disclosure of personal data held by Avex Group could be contrary to existing laws
    (vi) when the request for modifying or adding to personal data held by Avex is unnecessary from the perspective of the aforementioned purposes or in the case of the new information provided being fraudulent.
    (vii) when a request is made for deletion and cancellation (hereinafter cancellation) of personal data held by Avex Group, and Avex Group has not breached any procedure in using and acquiring the personal information for the aforementioned purposes, nor disclosed the personal information to a third party for reasons other than those stipulated in clauses 3-a and 3-f.
      (viii) when a request for the cancellation of personal data held by Avex Group cannot be granted due to difficulties and when Avex Group uses a substitute method to protect customers’ vested rights.
    (4) Avex Group takes special care concerning the personal information of customers under 13 years of age. Customers under 13 years of age providing personal information must have permission from a guardian.

  7. Personal information on the Internet
    (1) Cookies
    Cookies send information from the web server to a customer’s browser for an enhanced browsing experience. Avex websites use cookies. Customers may set their browser to not accept cookies, but certain online services may not be accessible.
    (2) Personal information protection for linked websites
    There are also links to non-Avex websites within the Avex website. Customers should be aware that Avex accepts no responsibility for personal information submitted to such websites.

  8. Changes to this policy
    Avex Group reserves the right to make changes to this policy document in accordance with changes in laws and regulations.
